By Dawes, with bright fullered blade double-edged at the point, stamped with a crowned ‘4’ on one side at the forte and with maker’s name on the back, unmodified regulation steel hilt numbered ‘1’ over ‘46’ on the knuckle-guard, and ribbed leather-covered grip (wire binding missing), in its steel scabbard with two suspension rings.
